New Year 2011

Counting down to the start if a new year is always refreshing in a temple. May this year's resolution be fulfilled without much procrastination ;-)

Instant Aquarium

After convincing my 5 years old son to abandon his Clown Fish ambition, I presented him a fresh water alternative. Being the 5 years old that he is, waiting is just not his strong point.

So, to avoid being pestered too much, I set up a planted aquarium in record time. Against all correct principles in setting up a planted aquarium, no time is provided for water cycling, letting the water matures, bacteria to colonise, nitrates to be removed. I thought the fishes are real gonner.

Pour in the soil, add tap water, put in the plants, pour bacteria starter, add plant nutrients, start the filter and pour in the fish - all in the span of 2 hours. The Discus fish turned a dark colour. Luckily, 24 hours later they are still alive. Whew! kids are sure impatient ;-)

Lectures again....

This time round, I do not anticipate enjoying the lecture. Forced to attend on behalf of my mom. Something about recycling used oil for the food industy.

Sigh! but on the positive side, I get to see what is in Seri Negeri, the Malacca State Government building ;-)

...... and as usual, I find myself at the last row of the seats... much like schooling days :-D

Attending Lecture

Funny thing about life is that when it was actually time to attend classes and lectures, I would actually skip them whenever possible. Which probably was the reason why I am now a failure in life ;-)
Now, when I am not compelled to attend classes, I find myself glued to this refreshing hour long lecture on media literacy......

Must be really getting old :-/

Audio Equipment

This device which I saw in a relative's home produces quite a good sound. Anyway at less than RM50, rechargeable battery, plays MP3 & radio receiver, good bang for the buck ;-)

Was thinking of getting one to train the songbirds. Portable & space saving.

These made in China products are getting better with time....
